Dismantling

Mostly putting this in to better understand how some of the features are going to work.

Today Da Wife is going on a shopping run. Needs clothes.
I should do the same as I’m out of pants that fit properly. There seems to be a evil elf Seamster’s Union hell bent on screwing with my inseams.
Either that or I’m getting shorter and fatter.

Woodworking-
We’ve been working on a window seat for the living room. A place for our lack of visitors to sit so that maybe we won’t have a lack of visitors. As we’re trying to do it as efficiently (read cheap) as possible. We are also recycling parts from destroyed projects

Entertainment Center teardown

So plywood it is.
As of late most of what I’ve been doing has been solid wood. So I’ve managed to keep it quiet around here and use mostly hand tools. As hand planing plywood is rough on the plane, I’ve resorted to sanding.
I forgot how much I hate sanding.
I also didn’t realize I was out of P220 grit sand paper.
Off to the BORG to get some.
Joy. Oh happy day.
Got to remember to pick up some denatured alcohol too.
Were going to try a better, more traditional, more easily repairable finish. i.e. Not Minwax stain.
Don’t get me wrong. I am enjoying this, Just there are so many thing I need to do before I can even get to it.
I’m beginning to thing I truly just enjoy bitching. I think it makes me happy.
strange.

  1. Hi
Hi, I like your seat, although I hope it won’t look like that when I get up there one day. It will be very hard. I’m not sure why I clicked on all the links, because they weren’t what I thought they’d be. Anyway, I did read it all and put up some more pics.
