Post Surgery woohooos

So today I had surgery on my neck. I had nothing better to do and some extra cash lying about. It’s also getting real hard to find a doctor that will give you Vicodin for no reason.  So I went in at 6:15am this morning to have a small lump removed from where my head attaches to my neck. I had high hopes of internet videos and Anime style incisions, but was knock out for the whole procedure.  They suspected that the lump was a lymph-node gone wrong, but once in there it looked more like an infection of some sort. So it wasn’t anything cool like a Manitou, or maybe even a scarab beetle. The Biopsy won’t be back for a week so I don’t get t find out what it is yet.I’m feeling OK, the Vicodin just basically takes the edge off of the pain, and makes the rest of my head not hurt. I attempted to not bother with it but by 4:00 I swear I could feel every cubic centimeter of my head. It is an interesting feeling being able to feel your skull shape via a slowly throbbing  pain. Interesting like mild electrocution, where you go ahead and do it again, just because it’s fascinating,  but then all of a sudden you get the full jolt and, while still interesting, it hurts too much. Definitely glad I didn’t go back to work.

I am looking forward to building the new shed this year, and getting rid of the Rubber-maid one. The idea is to make it look like a play house sort of thing. Like a small cottage in the back yard. We even intend to have a living roof.  My hopes is that the roof will retain enough of the water for the plants to help NOT lose ground in the back from run off.  Any overflow I plan on having go into a cistern of some sort. Maybe I’ll try my hand at coopering. The swap yard we live in is the biggest obstacle. The ground fluctuate enough that not only is our yard about 2 feet deeper now then when we moved in, it can also raise and lower 4 inches every spring as the ground underneath thaws. This is the same reason I made our front gate section adjustable.  It wouldn’t be a big deal if we could dig supports down be low the frost line, but digging 6feet in the easement doesn’t really seem all that practical, and our experience with the deck is that it really doesn’t make enough of a difference because the the whole yard is still sinking. With the space we have available, if we make the shed 12*8 It will give us plenty of room, as well as being under the size required for a permit. This will also make it so that we can add on a green house addition next year, and a few feet to add on a faux front porch. I’m thinking along the lines of little rocking chair and porch swing planters.

Of course I still haven’t finished the library remodel.
