Yeah Google!

Sometimes Google just gets it wrong, yet so right. I while back I was looking for information on Rabbi Shmuley, I had noticed his show had gone off the air. While I didn’t agree with a lot of his values, I though he did an excellent job of showing where the problems were and teaching people how to correct them and cope. Anyhow, I did a Google search, I couldn’t remember his name or the name of the show. At the time I could only remember shalom I ended up with this:

Shaloam for sale

Today I was reading on Theness an old (2005) article regarding an op-ed piece from the NY Times on intelligent design and I noticed this:

Expelled

This made me laugh for quite some time. I also thought I’d mention that I do have a problem with teaching ID in school. But I do not have a problem with teaching creationism in school. The difference? The latter is not taught as science, which it isn’t. The caveat? There should be a specific class called religions. One that teaches the under lying principle of all the major world religions, and then some of the lesser on an area by area basis. I had a class like this in High School. I learned a bit about Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, and unfortunately, graduated before I got to take the other class which covered Islam, Confucianism, Shinto and others. What the class did not teach was Christianity or Judaism, as their was already an established community, and for any student that wanted, there were people available to direct you after hours. Mostly what the class taught me was history and tolerance.

So allow (all) religion to be taught in school legitimately, and at the same time, TAX religion and make the school year all year long.
