The boyz minus one were over this morning. The little one got his revenge on me this evening though.
The oldest and I fixed his bike, which I have to say I was impressed with. Back when I worked for the retail assembly service, the bikes out of China were real crap. This had a decent frame, It could’ve used better welding but it was decent. The boy is pretty rough on the bike and it seems to have held up well. The only thing we really had to do was clean the dirt out of the bearings and re pack them with grease. Under all the dirt, The bike’s paint was still pretty much in tact. While we worked on his bike the other one rode his, played with the dog, and watched some old Disney B&W cartoons.
We were late meeting the rest of the family for lunch. The lunch we were going to for the oldest’s birthday. Since he was with us, he of course was late too. I’ve grown used to being late since I’ve been with artful_dabbler. It’s now not even always her fault. Like today for example. There just wasn’t enough time to get the bike done and get properly cleaned up. We got to the restaurant, ate, conversed, opened gifts, deFUBARed the bill, the went and got Chocolate from across the road. TO THE MOVIES!
We went and saw Over The Hedge. good movie. Very funny. I figured I would enjoy it, but I did not expect it to be laugh out loud funny. I also had the youngest of the three sitting on my lap the majority of the movie. Unbeknowest to me, he was upset that he didn’t get to stay with us :) I don’t think he told anyone. He just quietly contemplated. Just because revenge is a dish best served cold, doesn’t mean it can’t start out warm. It’s not like it’s never happened before, just not with so much Non notice. I have given this small not quite three year old a nickname. The Wee one.
We got home artful_dabbler sanded one side of the ‘lid’ for the window seat while I cleaned up some of the shop/garage. We went in and watch the cast commentary’s on The Return of the King disc one. I’ve discovered I really like Bernard Hill. His humor (and language it would seem) match mine. What is really funny is he looks (in the film) like a cross between My uncle Jim and Uncle Tom. He’s another one of the actors that ‘disappears in the film’ You forget who you’re watching, or you see them in another film and you think (or say to someone) “what have we seen them in?” artful_dabbler and I were thinking we’d look up and watch some more of his movies. I looked up his filmography and discovered we own/have seen a few of the recent ones. The Boys from County Clare, The Scorpion King, A Midsummer Night’s Dream & Titanic. DOH!
All in all, nice relaxing couple of days so far. I expect we will make some more progress on the bench tomorrow. Maybe even get the uploaded gallery pictures labeled.
Bernard Hill rules from orbit, man.
