This week the dishwasher commits murder/suicide and takes the kitchen floor with it.
It apparently has been a slow leaky death. The subfloor is all bubbled up. It’ll be quite the project when funds allow for it. In the mean time we’ll just get it dried out and put the new one in.
the old one was 25 years old.
The new one should save us quite a bit of money in the long run. It is much more efficient.
I think this is just going to lead to a bigger project so we are going to just dry ou the floor for now and then worry about the floor later.
Got a new (different) Motherboard for Melissa’s computer. I’ve got her backing up her files. It shouldn’t be too bad this time. Most of them are in the ‘my doc’ folder.
Oh yeah, and the brakes are going out on my car.
Call your homeowners’ insurance carrier. The worst they can say is ‘no’. Our dishwasher (which was old) developed an unseen leak and blistered the floor underlayment, giving rise (literally) to a strange lump in the kitchen. Further investigation proved it to be wet. Our homeowners’ policy covered the cost of new underlayment, new vinyl, and installation of both, less our deductible. Further, they went after the manufacturer and got -their- money back and eventually returned to us the deductible.
We had to do that a few years ago with THE WALL. with the deductable being what it is, and the last claim being less than 3 years ago, we don’t want to push it.They’ve been dropping people here for “excessive frivilous” claims. You got me thinking about it though which it honestly hadn’t even occurred to me.
