I’m giving fluxbox a try this morning. so far my only complaint is the same one I have with all the other window managers. What is the deal with Linux, Firefox, and fonts?
Th darned thing is fast. Which makes sense since the only thing that you can see is a toolbar at the bottom of the screen. All the toolbar has is a clock, a little area for switching to a different desktop, and space to show what windows are minimized. Everything is accessed from a right click on a blank desktop space. I may switch the server over to this since it’s so non resource intensive. I do miss the little weather update in the taskbar that I have in Gnome, but I’m betting there is something similar; I just haven’t had time to play with it yet. It seems there is a lot to customize on this.

So far the new applicants do NOT look promising. Most have been too young (my opinion). Not that age matters, but they’ve been so young that they couldn’t have had enough exp since the math wouldn’t add up. (think early twenties.) One of them went so far as to plop her cleavage on the counter, and while many women have done this to try and get out of rent (even a few without cleavage) and it is almost always appreciated; if they’re trying to get a recommendation from me they’ll have to go a lot further. Food. Good Beer. Lots of money. For the whole office, not just me. I don’t need cleavage, I got the best there is at home. Though I have to say it’s really funny to have these girls get pissed at you because you look them in the eye. Stupid girls. Perifial vision and selective hearing loss come from experience.
