Thursday was the final day of training/schooling for the new job. Those of you not following along, it’s been six months. Now that it’s done, I am now even more aware of just how much I do not know, but I am aware of how much the far right is lying and or not understanding in regards to immigration and “entitlements”. That’s all I’m going to say on that for now. As I was saying, Thursday was the last day of scheduled classes,. So I took Friday off knowing it would take me a day to unwind and get back into gear to actually be in the office. Bonus for me was that we have Monday off as well. I really didn’t pay attention to the dates, just the fact that it was a one day in the office week sort of thing.
Yesterday I spent lumbering about the house doing fairly a whole bunch of nothing with the exception of running out to find a new office chair as the one we were conned into buying a year ago was shite. I didn’t find anything. I’m also cheap. I’m willing to pay $150ish, but not $1,000.00, Though the Herman Miller Chairs look interesting and it get great reviews. Melissa suggested we try the Costco business center. So that is whet we did. This morning. at like 8am, because they open at 7am. What we discovered is that the Cosco business center has all the stuff we normally get at Costco (because we actually go through that much of it) and none of the pushy fucktard customers, and none of the lines going to the back of the warehouse. BONUS it has all the commercial kitchen stuff, more printers, and a better selection of volume cleaning products. We wandered around at a slow pace in awe of how quiet it was going up and down every aisle faster than we could just run in and out of the main consumer Costco. It was wonderful.
I had more time on my hands today so I decided to get back out to the patcave and finish up the bookcase doors. This is where the day got more strange. apparently, if I run any of the power tools in the garage, and Melissa is watching TV in the bedroom, the GFCI on the bedroom circuit will blow. The garage is on it’s own GFCI and does not blow. This caused me quite the fright as I was happily milling the stile and rails for the doors when suddenly there was this ominous presence in the now open door behind me to inform me of this situation. So I decided since I have no idea why a separate circuit would be tripping, and she’s not feeling at all well, I would NOT work on the bookcase doors today and instead just stare off at the shop in general until I figured something else out, or a solution to the circuit problem came to me. It’s a holistic approach that I find I do quite often. I don’t always get the answer I was looking for, but I find I get the answer that I needed for a question that I hadn’t even bothered to ask. I learned this technique from Detective Gently. :-)
I decided to build a tray feeder for the Stellar Jays and the Crows.
We have this nice little porch swing looking thing we got at Lowes. It’s really quite cute. The Crows and Jays can really get it swinging as it’s a little small for them. https://photos.app.goo.gl/bAejsIOKfenXON342
So I made a larger tray that will hold more unsalted peanuts and moved it a little lower down into view from a sitting position on the couch.
