So this weekend I installed a new water heater and the house didn’t blow up. I also crawled into the attic and installed a new ceiling fixture in Melissa’s Library. The is now a Godly amount of light in there. I moved the last of the bookshelves into the library from the bedroom to make room for the two dressers I collected from my neighbor, thus freeing up precious space in my closet FOR LINENS! :-) After taking a really long, really hot shower I put my clean clothes away. Into the dressers. My socks filled the top drawer. They are not small dressers. For the last 8 years or so my socks have gone from the dryer to the cloths basket to my socks & underwear wicker basket. Over the 8 years I have culled my socks into two types. Crew and tennis socks.
That they filled the drawer was a bit disturbing. I do not mate my socks, there are only two types, and in those two types they are all the same species. There must be at least 50 pair of the crew socks and another 20 pairs still in the wicker basket. There are another 20 or so tennis socks. It seems that you don’t need to mate your socks as they are more than capable of doing it on their own. This is convenient in the troubling economic times, I just wish that more of my clothes would do that. I have a pair of pants that I really like that it would be nice to have a second pair. There is however the strange feeling that some of the pairs of boxer briefs are getting larger, and there are less of them. Perhaps they are eating each other. At least it was a productive weekend.
