Slowly getting somewhere with the pumping water out of the crawl space thing.
It seems odd digging a hole in the crawlspace. It is also hard on the back.
It is smelly too. 20 year old rotting vegetation and who know how much standing water over and over.
Digging a hole in sand and peat in muddy water is hard.
5 gallon buckets of wet sand and peat are really f’n heavy. I pulled a muscle so bad I’m having a hard time breathing. much less moving; work should be interesting today. I wasn’t hard to lift up to my waist, but the way the hatch on the crawl space is in relation to the hole, I really couldn’t stand up right away. As I started to, I lost my balance and did not want to step in the hole (which being under water I couldn’t see anyway) So I threw the bucket. The bucket being probably over 50lbs did not go far. I would even say the by back was nice enough to absorb any power I might have actually put into throwing the 50lb bucket. (I’m going to have to weigh one.) The bucket landed on the ground with a tiny thump. no bounce, no spill. I didn’t fall in the hole.
My back said “you dumb ass.” and has been bitching at me all night. It won’t shut up either.
It also seems that they have rescheduled our trash pick up for WAY earlier in the morning. Crap.
