Today we got up, and very lackadaisy went down to the Ave and got breakfast at Shultzy’s. I had Scotch eggs (hard boiled eggs, wrapped in sausage, breaded in panko flour and fried) Melissa had a egg on a pork sausage pattie philly. We meandered back to the hotel then took off for Monroe.
Monroe WA. It’s a lot like Plymouth MI in the 80’s and 90’s. That’s about all I can say for the downtown district. all 5 blocks. Once outside of town it’s beautiful mountain and valley views and horse country. It looks like a good place to retire to.
We then drove into Everette. More accurate to say that we drove up and down the huge hills of Everette. Everette is a lot like Wayne and Dearborn Heights in appearance. By that I mean a lot of mixed old houses. Most of them seemed to be built between 1900 and 1935. Some are a lot newer. The views. They were incredible. Melissa tried to get some pictures as I drove arond at a 40° incline. I found myself once again wanting to reenact the movie “Bullet”.
We already found two really good places to eat. The first place we found was “Bobby’s Hawaiian Style Restaurant. It looks like a bit of a dive, and it’s down near the docks, but the food is fantastic. The second place we went to was Diamond Grill and Ale house. Also near the water over by Lighthouse park in Mukitleo. They have a Reuben Pizza. There is no need to say more.
