so this past week the wife and I finally had our honeymoon. It took awhile, but we eventually figured our where to go and could actually afford to go :-). It kind of doubled as a 20th anniversary trip, but no matter. It’s odd to think about it, but at this point she has been in my life longer than she hasn’t. I hope that gap just continues to grow larger, insured or not :-P. Our trip was to Washington D.C. and was definitely well worth it, but exhausting. DC is a place with so much to see and do (if you like museums and monuments and history and such) there just is not a way to see it all in a week long trip. Even JUST the Mall area. There is a sense of scale that you really don’t get from just photos, distance and time get all screwed up. Your day flies by and before you know it, the museum is closing. On that note, Vegas Casinos are easier to navigate than most of the museums on the National Mall. We will certainly be gong back to take in a few more museums, tours of some of the government facilities, and hopefully some of the sites outside of the city.
for now though, I’m looking forward to a few days of putting around the house. Finishing up the new bakers counter top, picking some more at the comic archive updates, maybe actually editing and posting some of the photos I’ve been taking that haven’t been put up on Instagram. Maybe I’ll just sleep. I’m very tired. It was a busy trip with a shit ton of walking. Everyday.
