The pat
Both of us ended up going home sick yesterday. Not enough sleep I suppose.
Personally I started with a headache; it got worse. By 9am I was nauseous; wasn’t sure if I was going to puke or the other. Around 9:30, 10:00 I started to see things. I swear someone walked into the office and had a dog with them. A little dog that you can carry inside your coat. Like those annoying toy poodles that no one ever seems to wash the face of. Anyhow, around 10:30 I worked up the nerve to tell the Office Manager what was going on and that I’d need to leave. I don’t know why this is so difficult for me to do. Well actually I do and you’d think I’d be able to get over it though; it’s been at least 15 years.
The cat.
We still don’t know what the initial cause of all this has been. It could be something in his stomach that doesn’t show on x-ray (doubtful), pancreatitis (I think that’s what it was called), or the intestinal bowel thing. That’s pretty much in order from most hopeful to worse. If it’s the last one we’ll have to put him down. The part neither of us likes is that we’d have to do it for financial/time reasons. The ironic thing is that both feel better about it (the whole ordeal) having a plan.
We visited with him last night; Melissa’s parents came with us.
He was up and exploring the visiting room and purring quite a bit. They managed to get a little more food into him at one time. He’s still getting nauseated though.
He has an extra plug but seems quite content.
We pick him up today around Noon. We have to feed him very slowly every 3 to 4 hours. I’ll be taking vacation time for what I can.
The ‘OH CRAP’
I’m going to be late for work.
Before I forget…Thank you J&RL.
Poor kitty. Poor Melissa and Pat. :( I hope it’ll all turn out ok. :(
