Stupid vaulted ceilings. They make it so you can’t put the bath fans in with a bit of a drop to prevent any moisture from coming back in. I don’t think that is the entire problem this time. As soon as Melissa turned on the bath fan I heard “oh crap, OH!”, then giggle, giggle. The bath fan that I put in this summer was leaking water. It looked like it was peeing, very slowly. Apparently when the fan shuts off the air flap seals good enough to keep the condensation from coming back in when it condenses as water. That is good, because if water can’t get in, warm air isn’t getting out. With the really cold weather and the high winds all day and all night, I have the feeling that our vent pipe acted more like a dew trap and collected water from the outside and brought it in. The only reason I think that is because the only difference between today compared to the last few weeks is the wind. Since it hadn’t leaked until this morning…
