I decided not to ease the edges of the trim on the window seat. I’m also not going to install the recessed handles on the lid. Esp since something got into the shellac (blue wax) and then into the pores of the maple trim. This has officially become Window Seat 0.95 Beta. As such I now only have…
a few more coats of finish on the base,
cut the support poles
sand the support poles
apply finish to the support poles
apply finish to the top of the lid (after the bottom cures.)
attach the lid.
Drag it into the house.
Melissa finished the cushion yesterday. It came out really good.
I have also decided that I should do more of our projects that are custom for the house as ‘beta’ projects. Most of the stuff I need to do are going to end up so customized for this house that when we eventually can build a house, they will be considered temp furniture, until I can make Real furniture from real wood. ($$$$)
