I do believe I may have finally successfully left property management. I am on week 4 with my new job and thus far, I couldn’t be happier. There is sales involved, but it is more customer service and no pressure assistance, than it is the hard sell. This I can live with. I would say so far it has been mostly product explanation and assistance. It helps when the product is well engineered.
I’m also finally getting somewhere with making Paddy Pogue a little more flexible. I’ve got one thumb done. The steel wire is working better than I thought it would, it’s just a mess to get the two part epoxy onto the wire, and into holes about 3/32 inch in diameter.
So far I’ve been able to make the joints pretty close together. I was worried that I would end up adding a 1/2 inch at each section. So far I’ve been able to keep it around 1/8th. Only 9 more to go then I have to figure out the hips and shoulders.
I’ve also started a new guitar project. I acquired a busted up Epiphone Les Paul, and a film canister. The idea is to see how far I can get using completely reporposed materials. Thus far I have laminated a through neck from strips of maple and picked a piece of Sapele out of the scrap bin at my new job, and have the basic body worked out of the film canister I got from Tinkertopia.
Oh and the best part, I picked up a nut, to use for the nut.
