Total Crazyness

I couldn’t sleep so I got up and started working on the server. There are all kinds of noises coming from the skylight a few feet above my head. The wind has picked up to the point it’s making things sound like a diesel truck down-shifting through the neighborhood. Then I heard the sand sound. The sound like sand being dumped from a bucket into a wheel barrow. It’s frakken raining! I’ve got 35.4°F on our neighbors outdoor temp sensor (really should find out who it is and let them know their battery’s low). According to the weather applet in Gnome, it’s 37.4°F at Lake Hood, and “light Snow”. with the winds at 16.1mph. Ted Stevens Airport is the same, (probably NOT a good sign in this town) Merrill Field’s got 30.2°F / 5.8mph. We’re only talking a few miles difference, but that’s normal for this town. The reason for the weather report? On Monday it was -29°F when I first woke up in the morning. The snow is still 3+ feet everywhere but where they plowed. The roads still have a layer of packed snow on them which I’m sure is now fun to drive on. (tugs at leash). It is above freezing out side. It is 36°F in my attic. There is no water coming into my house. (Snoopy happy dance) I will however, need to clear a path to the crawl space and check on the sump pump.

I’m betting it’s a busy weekend for the managers on call at work. They were dealing with frozen/busted pipes Monday and Tuesday, now I’m betting they get roof leaks from the ice-dams.
Glad I’m not a manager.
